I start off this series of episodes at the Stone Circle Lodge while I plan my way to the mountain with two guests (Sam and Ram), with a trip in mind to visit some Stone Circle Ruins I've been to before to check up on their current state.
It's truly amazing how many stone circles are in Mpumalanga and near the lodge. With the saddening amount of circles that have perished over the years, it brings me joy to see so many still around with so many great specimens of fossils near the circles.

On my way out from the view of the three stone circles, I can't help but stop and find so many amazing examples of the instant petrification in the fossils scattered around the fields. I then start the journey to the next site.

Stone Circle Ruins P3
Something that I haven't done in a while is stop on these drives up the mountain and have a good look around.
I find myself seeing so much going on and looking at unexpected fossils in the most unexpecting places. -
Stone Circle Ruins P4
I can't help but take a detour from our route to go and show you the site where I found the first ribs. This site is where the penny dropped and I came to the conclusion that these are not stones! They are fossils.
